HIP REPLACEMENT SURGERY

• Total hip replacement ops are carried out on Mondays and Tuesdays, and the patients are released byThursday or Friday of the same week. First day post op our in-house physiotherapist starts basic physiotherapy with the patient – walking with the aid of 2 crutches, moving to a single crutch as soon as the patient feels comfortable with a single crutch support (this is more related to body weight than patient’s age), use of toilette, dressing / undressing, etc.

• The following program has been designed for patients abroad: Arrival at Zagreb airport on a Wednesday where our staff collect the patients and transfer them to the pre-booked accommodation. On Thursday the patient is taken to the local Thalassotherapy hospital for cardio, blood and other tests. Same day or on Friday the patient will be brought to our orthopedic Hospital for x-ray and orthopedic examination. Assuming all tests are negative, the patient stays at the pre-booked accommodation until Sunday evening when the patient will be brought back again to our Hospital.

• The price:

a) Hip replacement (cement): 6.100 €

b) Hip replacement (resurfacing): 6.720 €

c) Hip replacement (large diameter): 7.660 €

Price includes:

a) pre-op examination (by Prof Nemec),

b) pre-op x-ray (bearing in mind that the x-rays radiographs brought by the patient may be out-of-date or taken from a less than ideal angle/distance or not clear enough),

c) pre-op anesthesiologist exam

d) implants,

e) operation,

f) board and accommodation (4 days),

g) physiotherapy during the patients stay at our hospital,

h) all drugs and medication administered during the op and stay,

i) anesthetists and anesthetic drugs.

• Following the release from our orthopedic Hospital the patient is transported to the nearby Center for physical therapy where 2-3 weeks are spent undergoing a bespoke physiotherapy program.

Daily price includes:

a) accommodation,

b) twice daily physiotherapy with exercises,

c) full board (3 meals),

d) regular check-ups by medical professionals.

Location:

• We’ll waiting at the Zagreb airport and transfer you to the Center for physiotherapy according to the program. Both Hospitals are in Opatija (near City of Rijeka) at the Adriatic coast, aprox 100 miles south-west of Zagreb. You’ll be transferred by high class car with English speaking driver.
